We offer a professional dance experience, superior knowledge of dance theory, and a genuine love for the art of dance. Join our staff in a new, modern, earth friendly studio.

Our Teachers are trained in "Sensory Intregration Techniques." Children with Autism, ADD, ADHD or Dyslexia can participate comfortably in our dance program.

Be sure to check out these new classes for the fall 2010-11 season:

  • Yoga for Dancers, Cheerleaders, and Gymnasts - A yoga class designed for girls ages 8-13 who are involved in dance, cheer & gymnastics to teach tools for injury prevention, proper body movement, strength & teamwork, while cultivating a relaxed, accepting & winning attitude.
  • Conditioning and Strength Training for Dancers - Fitness class designed for girls age 13 & up to build upper body strength, agility, and endurance.
  • B-boy Street Dance - This class will introduce students to street dance styles such as popping and locking, breakdance, and other improvisational hip hop styles. This class is for children ages 7-13.
  • Tiny/Youth Tumbling - Floor gymnastics skills such as forward and backward roll, cartwheel, bridge, splits, and other mat tumbling will be the focus of this class for children age 4-7 and 7-10.

 

DANCE CLASSES

BALLET
  • Ballet is one of the world's most graceful dance styles. Since Ballet is the foundation for all styles of dance, students are encouraged to take ballet along with all other dance classes.
  • All ballet classes will focus on proper body alignment, technique and terminology
  • Dress codes for Ballet classes are strictly enforced. Girls must wear leotard, tights, and ballet slippers. Skirts are optional. Hair must be out of face and in a tight bun. Boys should wear black pants, white t-shirt and black ballet slippers.

JAZZ/HIP HOP (AGE 6-10)
  • This combination allows the necessary jazz technique and strong foundation to be learned.
  • The student will also learn today's popular moves.
  • Students should dress in appropriate dance attire allowing body posture to be evaluated. Jazz shoes are required.

JAZZ
  • Technique and flexibility are the focus of this class, as well as, skills such as turns and leaps.
  • Using upbeat music of today to Broadway styles such as Fosse, Jazz is a class students enjoy.
  • Students should dress in appropriate dance attire allowing body posture to be evaluated. Jazz shoes are required.

HIP HOP
  • Structured form of street dance often found in music videos.
  • This dance is designed to teach coordination, strength, quickness, agility, and endurance.
  • Students should dress in comfortable clothing. Street sneakers or dance shoes can be worn.

CONTEMPORARY
  • Contemporary dance consists of ballet steps and tricks with a funky modern edge.
  • The music is used to effect the way you move.
  • A combination of modern and lyrical will be taught in this class.
  • Students should wear clothing that allows bodylines to be seen. Foot undees should be worn.

POINTE
  • Students are only able to participate in a pointe class with the approval of the studio director.
  • Audition is required for new students.
  • Students must wear leotard and tights. Dance skirts are optional. Hair must be in bun, off face.

PRE-POINTE
  • This class is for students who are preparing to go up on toe shoes.
  • Students will be invited to participate in this class when the studio director feels they are ready.
  • Students must wear leotard and tights. Dance skirts are optional. Hair must be in bun, off face.

TAP
  • This class develops rhythm, musicality and coordination.
  • Dancers will practice rhythmic patterns and combination with tap shoes.
  • Appropriate dance clothes should be worn. Pants must be above shoe.
  • Tap shoes are recommended according to level. Please inquire with studio director.

TINY TOTS (AGE 2)
  • Develops coordination, rhythm and motor skills using movement, singing and dance
  • Stimulates imagination
  • Emphasis is on acting and dance movement rather than one specific form of dance
  • Props are used to enhance development skills
  • Class is 45 minutes
  • Girls wear all pink with pink ballet slippers and boys wear black pants, white shirt and black ballet slippers.

PREDANCE (AGE 3-4)
  • Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Tumbling
  • This combination class serves as a perfect introduction for our younger students.
  • Stresses coordination skills and developmental fitness while it enriches the student's life with a love of the dance at an early age.
  • Girls wear all pink with pink ballet slippers and boys wear black pants, white shirt and black ballet slippers.

KINDERDANCE (AGE 5-6)
  • Ballet, Jazz & Tap
  • This combination class begins to focus more on the fundamentals of dance
  • Ballet warm-ups progress to the ballet barre, learning technique and terminology.
  • Girls wear all pink with pink ballet slippers and boys wear black pants, white shirt, and black ballet shoes.
